Representative training

Representative training

Last week we were delighted to welcome several of our international representatives to Switzerland for a targeted sales, product and plant training with the goal of being able to consult and support customers with a broad range of services and solutions.

We started off with Bioprocess 101 and design principles: understanding the customer’s application and process specifications and being able to translate these into engineering or mechanical solutions. Later that evening, Bioengineering hosted an aperitif, where our partners mingled with project managers, process engineers, plant engineering, sales and service and executive management. Our partners shared market insights, success stories, told us about their key accounts and opportunities we could pursue.

The next morning was very hands-on with the standard product line. Representatives assembled our benchtop models from unpacking, installation, hook-up and startup all the way through to programming typical operations. They tried their hands at the flexible, intuitive and powerful BioSCADA software, optimized for the bioreactor environment and learned tips and tricks to make the most of it: For example, the BioSCADA makes it possible to handle fixed speed pumps as pulsed variable speed with the sequence function. We ended the day at a restaurant on the Bachtel mountain and marvelled at the Swiss Alps, the approaching thunderstorm, a double rainbow and the different alphorn skills of our partners.

A deep sleep later, we met again on the 3rd day for a workshop on the customer’s value chain. We discussed how best we as solution providers can enable their success: faster time to market and changeover between batches, increasing titer, regulatory and marketing authorizations and so forth. Intensive emphasis was also put on the service offering, especially uptime and preventative maintenance. Representatives then visited our second fabrication hall to get a glimpse into the construction, quality management processes, traceability and how we go above and beyond the necessary norms in executing projects.

Once again, we would like to thank the training visitors and look forward to the next training session.
